Following the latest government guidance issued on 23rd May, we have decided to open up the Buckler’s Hard village, including the car park and lavatory facility, to provide those visiting the New Forest with an alternative place to visit, enjoy a picnic or walk alongside the Beaulieu River.
At this time, the Maritime Museum, shipwright cottages, Captain's Cabin tea room and river cruise remain closed.
Starting on Thursday 28th May, the facilities will be open each week from Wednesday to Sunday at 10.30am, with the last entry to the car park at 4.00pm. The car park gates will be shut at 5pm.
We have implemented Covid-19 Secure practices to ensure the village is kept clean and safe for our visitors, residents and staff. We ask our visitors to help us by ensuring they follow Government guidance:
• Do not visit if you are feeling unwell or displaying any of the Covid-19 symptoms.
• Respect the recommendation to keep a 2m distance from other visitors.
• Use the sanitising stations provided near to the lavatory facility.
• Be prepared to queue for the lavatory facility which will be regularly cleaned for your safety.
For the time being a fee of £5 per car and £3 per motorcycle will be charged on entry to help us provide this facility. This will allow you to park and enjoy the village all day whilst helping us to maintain this heritage site. Parking does not have to be pre-booked and can be paid for on arrival via a contactless payment card. Annual Pass holders, and those with unused attraction tickets purchased prior to our closure, will be permitted to park at no charge on production of their pass or ticket.
A pop-up cafe will be open (weather permitting) from Wednesday to Sunday for visitors to purchase take away hot and cold drinks, and light snacks.
We are looking forward to welcoming you and your family back to Buckler’s Hard and hope that you enjoy the opportunity to spend time together in our beautiful village.
