Buckler’s Hard has joined its sister attraction Beaulieu in being awarded the Visit Britain ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry-standard ahead of its reopening on Wednesday 8th July.
Just in time for the summer, the Buckler’s Hard visitor attraction on the banks of the Beaulieu River will reopen the doors to the Maritime Museum, Shipwright’s Cottage and St Mary’s Chapel for visitors to discover the story behind this 18th-century historic shipbuilding village. The popular river cruise will also be operating for visitors to the village.
A pop up café will be open for visitors to purchase light refreshments until the Captain’s Cabin Tea Room reopens on 22nd July. Visitors are welcome to picnic on the green beside the Beaulieu River, but in accordance with the New Forest Code are requested not to use BBQs and to take their rubbish home. The toilet facilities will also open and will be regularly cleaned.
Following careful preparation and measures aimed at keeping both our visitors and staff safe, the attraction has been awarded the ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry-standard from Visit Britain, which means we are following Government and industry Covid-19 safety guidelines and have processes in place to ensure social distancing and cleanliness.
In support of this, we have developed a Visitor Safety Promise to reassure visitors of the steps we are taking to help them feel safe during their day out.
The attraction will reopen initially from Wednesday to Sunday each week until the 22nd July when we will return to opening seven days per week.
Visitors are asked to purchase their admission tickets online before arrival to facilitate quick entry to the attraction, and in accordance with Government guidance, to record contact details if later required as part of an NHS Track & Trace exercise. River cruise tickets will be sold as passengers go aboard the boat.
An advance adult ticket to Buckler’s Hard costs just £6.90 and includes entrance to the historic village and waterfront, Maritime Museum and Buckler’s Hard Story, the Shipwright's Cottage and all-day car parking.
